Myofunctional Therapy: A Practical Program (a Live Stream and Hands-on program)

3-Month: 3 consecutive monthly installments of $1050 + tax 

 

 

Part One: Thursday evenings online starting March 20th through to May 1st, 2025

(Please Note: Week 4 will be held on the evening of Wednesday, April 9th)

 

  • Time: 7:00 PM - 9:00 PM EST
  • The recording will be available upon request for 30 days for those who cannot attend each night.  

 

*Please note: This is an interactive program. Joe encourages you to join the online sessions live. You will have the ability to turn your camera and mic on to engage with Joe and ask questions.

 

Part Two: In-Person Training at rdhu!

Course Description

 

Oral health is airway health. This program uses the principles of the Dental Hygiene Process of Care to identify and treat Orofacial Myofunctional Disorders (OMDs) effectively.

 

Designed specifically for dental hygienists, this program will give you the confidence to incorporate Myofunctional Therapy at an entry level into your clinical practice.

 

This 30-hour hybrid program combines online learning and hands-on training to ensure you can practice Myofunctional Therapy safely and effectively. It also emphasizes that knowledge and research in this field are continually evolving, inspiring participants to embrace lifelong learning.

 

The program structure includes:

 

  • 7 weeks of online training (one evening per week)
  • 2 days of in-person hands-on training at our beautiful rdhu facility in Burlington, ON

 

 

Program Components

 

  1. Anatomy, Physiology, and Pathophysiology
    A strategic review of head and neck anatomy, as well as respiratory and digestive functions.

 

  1. Assessment & Planning
    Identifying Orofacial Myofunctional Disorders (OMDs) and developing client-specific treatment plans.

 

  1. Therapy Interventions
    Learn therapies and techniques to treat OMDs effectively.

 

  1. Evaluation & Clinical Practice
    Ongoing evaluation and successful incorporation of Myofunctional Therapy into clinical practice as part of a collaborative healthcare team.

 

 

Each component includes clearly defined learning objectives.


 

Upon Completion

 

Participants will feel confident implementing client-centered goals and Myofunctional Therapy within their practice. Registered Dental Hygienists will earn the training to become Myofunctional Therapists and receive a Certificate of Completion.

Prerequisite

 

The Mysteries of Myofunctional Therapy 6-hour online course is required before enrolling in this program. If you have not yet completed this course, you can register by emailing info@rdhu.ca.
